Fucking love this song.

It’s been a long time since I last saw this. One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

Lately I keep thinking back to the 9th of November 2011, when I went to see my all-time favourite band live, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was probably one of the best moments of my life. Front row, about 4-5 meters away from Flea. Rocking out with them and another 20,000 people or so in the O2 arena, London was one of the most fucking amazing moments of my life.

Classy.

Here’s a picture of an Orchid I took earlier today. I took three different exposures and used some software to form an HDR image. Once it was processed I then edited it a bit with Adobe Lighroom 4 (Beta).

I thought I’d give product photography a go, seeing as how making a simple home set-up is very easy and also free.

I used 2 sheets of white A3 paper, one as the background for the shots, and the other as a light diffuser for the Ikea lamp I used as a light source. Since the A3 paper didn’t provide a very big background, I had to use the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G zoomed in all the way for most shots, as the 35mm f/1.8G didn’t provide enough crop and you could see the edges of the paper in most shots. This was not ideal as the 35mm is a much sharper lens and would have provided much better results, and also because of its f/1.8 aperture it would have made shooting in low light a lot easier. All of the photos were taken with exposures between 1/6 of a second and 1 second, this was because I used an ISO of 100 in order to give the pictures the highest quality possible.

Check out my Flickr account for the results (they will be uploaded later today):
